menagerie

1. i'm reading one month to live. it asks its readers, "what would you do if you have one month to live?" (and hey, what would YOU do?) i must say...i'm hooked.

aptly, i've just finished reading if you want to walk on water, you've got to get out of the boat. this book, on the other hand, talks about going out of our comfort zones and believing God to guide us thru the things we're too afraid to do. in short, having faith.

i'm amazed and amused and awed by the timing of my reading this stuff.

2. i helped a friend pack things, catalog stuff for their garage sale, and take care of their two young kids. i enjoyed the experience of having to run after their kids, feed them, cuddle them, and play with them. i realized one thing, too: i am not cut out for the married life just yet. there's an opportune time to do things and a right time for everything on earth (ecc 3:1 msg). much as i ask God for those wonderful gifts called marriage and family life...they're not for me yet. really. it's like a five-year-old girl asking for mommy's make-up (reminds me of that flintstones vitamins commercial). it just doesn't fit in the equation yet. yes, singleness is a gift, and there is a wonderful purpose for it.

3. i skimmed thru an e-book of twilight last sunday, and i must say-- major disclaimer, especially to the twilight fans, this is just my honest-to-goodness opinion, okay-- i found it mushy. i dunno. for someone as chummy and mushy as i am, i did find it mushy. edward cullen is too good to be true. or maybe i'm just too jaded or something. i was laughing while reading it, though. it got me thinking too. who needs cullen when i have....? (yeekee! )

4. God is still answering my prayers left and right. He is soooooooo amazing.

5. still recuperating from pharyngitis. my voice is okay, albeit a bit husky. i'm hoping for favorable results tomorrow.

6. i'm excited to move to my friend's house on saturday. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee! tugs tugs tugs tugs tugs
