tuesday scribbles

writing down some thoughts on my journal last tuesday:

God loves it when we glorify Him with our gifts. And He gives us endless opportunities to do so. (case in point: God knows how much i love writing and He always, always, ALWAYS provides me with journals. sweet ni God no?) We should not feel unworthy or inadequate each time we are called to do His will. We must keep in mind that it is HIS SPIRIT working in and through us, not our own might and power.

• "God's plan for us is the plan that will fit up perfectly. It will excite us the most and bring us the greatest feelings of meaning and satisfaction."
• "The Lord will never impose on us something that hampers us from using the talents, skills, and resources that He has given to us." (from Learning to Discern)

He also honors our speedy and swift OBEDIENCE to carry out His will. It is, after all, part of His plans to: (1) prosper us, (2) not harm us, and (3) give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) The Bible also gives us countless promises of blessing each time we obey him (Deuteronomy 28: 1-14).

Then again, God's purpose is unchanging. Each time we fall, He promises to pick us up. Our salvation is a done deal--He has purchased our sins on the cross. The only thing we need to do is humble ourselves and ask for His grace to overcome. His grace is enough for us. God will weed out the things in us that He doesn't like and gives us extra grace to endure the rest.
