i will never go wrong
to find you in the littlest things
to be still and breathe
and to know who you are
i will never go wrong.
i am certain that i will find you
if i wake up each morning
(or afternoon, or evening,
as you know, it depends on my schedule)
with you in mind
i will never go wrong
my path is straight
my cup is filled
what more, pray tell
surely your love
fills me up
all the days of my life
ah. i love you

discoveries
2. campus harvest 08 coming up! at first i thought i would miss one of the days on the conference cos of my (yet again changed ) schedule... but lo and behold! i discovered na makakapunta pa rin ako, and i would complete all sessions!
3. since living with family for almost a month now, i've discovered that i'm getting fat! hahaha! okay, okay, i'm not complaining about the love and care, but my black slacks hardly make me breathe now! hahaha!
...you just gotta love--and be thankful for!--the little discoveries in life
oh another discovery. if you're into campus ministry, this is for you

the heat is on: matters of perspective
it's hot. it really is. (if i hear a paris hilton reference i am gonna...stick my tongue out at you )
we're right smack in the middle of summer, and most of us are frolicking in beaches, enjoying our summer destinations (whether provincial or international), enrolling ourselves in classes (academic or otherwise), and if you're in the trimestral system, still at school, studying for finals.
whatever. it's hot. no question about it.
we all have two options in reference to the sweltering, smoldering, sticky heat.
the easy option is whining and complaining about how hot it is. this option, though easy, seemingly non-problematic, and quite...natural, if i may say, already adds unnecessary stress to yourself. i don't need to explain, but didn't that old study say that frowning makes you exert 20 face muscles or something like that? i don't know about you, but i don't like how that sounds. it only means one thing: wrinkles. eeew.
the not-so-easy but more enjoyable option is looking at the sunny, brighter side of all this heat. cases in point-- summer fruits are yummy in season. i've never been much of a fruit-eater growing up, but thanks to my dad, i have no qualms eating baskets of fruit now. mangoes are yummier and waaay cheaper. (a friend told me that mangoes in his hometown sell for fifteen pesos a kilo. fifteen pesos! wow cubao.) and i've never appreciated pineapples but now, wow, i can eat them all day.
laundry gets dryer, quicker too. i did laundry yesterday morning and after lunch, voila! i was able to stash away my clean clothes in my drawer. this is such a great thing, especially if you really wanna wear that nice new blouse again.
and, hey, isn't beach-going/swimming/vacationing much more fun in summer? ang tragic naman if you booked your flight to bora right smack in the middle of june. it's so... novel-ish! hahaha! for the students: now's the time when school's out, you can get to go where you want to go, and get yourself revved up for another school year! if you're working naman, you can get to take a leave from work, relax with family and/or friends, and go back to work with that nice tan! or rosy cheeks if you went to baguio!
there is more to life than our present circumstances. we may whine, complain, and moan about what we don't have, but we still have something left, don't we?
let's look beyond our seemingly sad, sorry state and be grateful for the little things that life has to offer!

Somwhere in the Middle - Casting Crowns
Somewhere between the hot and the cold
Somewhere between the new and the old
Somewhere between who I am and who I used to be
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me
Somewhere between the wrong and the right
Somewhere between the darkness and the light
Somewhere between who I was and who You're making me
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me
Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control
Fearless warriors in a picket fence, reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
With eyes wide open to the differences, the God we want and the God who is
But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
Are we caught in the middle
Somewhere between my heart and my hands
Somewhere between my faith and my plans
Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves
Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
Somewhere between the altar and the door
Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Somewhere in the middle You'll find me
Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control
Lord, I feel You in this place and I know You're by my side
Loving me even on these nights when I'm caught in the middle
